Cards

I had a really productive day today.  Finished two cards, one for a special niece, will post after I give it to her .  Used colours I don't normally work with and although its plain I really like it.  Also finished two custom order cards which came together quiet well and also will post after they are delivered.  Have a few more to make for that order so will be a little while.

Really cant wait for the remaining storage options to be delivered, my craft studio is getting so messy every time I work as there is just no room and hard to find things.  I do not know how people scrap that use one table inside  a cupboard, my hat goes off to them.

Engagement cards to show

My Girlfriend asked me to make an engagement card for her to give to her nephew who recently got engaged.  When I asked what she wanted all she said was that she would like it personalised with their names on it. 

When I played around with a few ideas, I decided I liked using their initials as it sat nice on the card then their names which were a bit long.  I also didn't get any idea of favourite colours etc so done two cards.  One was in blacks and one was pinks.  Totally opposite colours but I liked how they came out.  I really like the pink one and when I gave them to my friend she liked them both, somehow as it's her nephew I think she might go with the black one but will wait and see.  Hope she asks me to do a wedding card for her when their time comes.  What do you think?  Would you like to receive cards like these?

Inside the cards I have put in a light cream insert that simply says 'congratulations'.  The ribbon is hidden under the front an back cover and ties at the side like a mini book.

ok, not sure why the room pics keep disappearing, but they are back up again, and they are still messy, even though I have cleaned the room heheheh

Engagement Cards and Studio

Spent two hours today finishing off the cards I was making for my friend.  She wanted an engagement card so I made two so that she could choose.  Hope she likes them.  Will upload pics after I show them to her.  But when I finished I looked at the mess I had made in my studio.  Guess I will be spending tomorrow or tonight giving it a good cleaning up, I find it hard to clean as I go as I am a bit restricted with space and it is a bit much getting up and down to reach things so I get in a bit of mess.  Dont judge me by these pics heheh, I hate working in mess but this is me in my creative mood.

Storage Issues

Yesterday I was in my craft room, going to start a card that a friend asked for and ended up needing to sort out all my blank cards and envelopes.  They were all in one box in an order that was only obvious to me but the edge of some envelopes had gotten up turned so knew I had to find a better storage solution.

So today off we went to Howards Storage and what a wasted trip that was, I wasn't feeling great but that trip didn't help.  They had nothing that I could use that would be serviceable and also able to take a decent quantity of cards.

So home again and back online to the Container store.  Found something that I think will work fine and ordered two of them.  They have two day shipping from Sydney so we will see, as my parcels have not been arriving in any great time frames.

With the containers ordered, I went back to start the card and decided I would make two, one in a girly pink design and one in a black and white.  The black and white one looks good in my opinion, just  need some black organza to finish it which I will have to get tomorrow.  The pink one is coming along ok, it has a few parts to it that need to be glued and dried fully before I move on to the next stage, so hope I will get it finished tomorrow an then can take it to my friend Friday for her to choose.  Actually she can have both if she wants and another family member can use the one she doesn't want.  Am happy with them so far and will post pics when they are done.
